Analytics team Manager

Location: Tokyo

In this role, you will lead in analyzing some of the largest and richest biological datasets in the world to find biological signatures and patterns and guide our assays, data processing pipelines, and product strategies. Managerial responsibilities

– Manage projects through OKR setting and project management to maximize productibility and achieve the company’s objective
– Talent management roles including recruiting, team building, and skill development of team members Analytics team member responsibilities
– Identify biomarkers and develop cancer tests to analyze miRNA expression data and identify cancer/other diseases,
– Review/Develop statistical approaches operating across Craif’s data sets, public data
– Collaborate closely with both internal members (management / clinical team /lab scientists) and external collaborators (clinicians, academic and industrial researchers) and drive projects effectively
– Be responsible for developing a culture of statistical objectivity throughout the company
– Communicate company achievements externally through scientific publications and presentations

■Qualifications

・Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biological Sciences, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent preparation and experience
・Proven track record of strong contributions demonstrated by highly cited publications, impactful tools, products, or data sets used by the scientific community, presentations at international conferences, and awards
・Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in positions of increasing responsibility
・Deep understanding of modern statistical and machine learning tools for analysis of genomics datasets
・Demonstrated ability to apply these skills to uncover new biological insights from large genomics datasets
・Demonstrated expertise in at least one programming language (R, Python, Go, C++), proficiency in Linux environment, version control tools, and reproducible research practices.
・Consistent record of developing productive teams and successfully working in cross-functional environments
・Technical leadership and self-direction, willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques
・Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese
