Craif (Location: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ryuichi Onose, hereinafter “Craif”) published the results of a biomarker discovery study on interstitial cystitis conducted by Assistant Professor Fumihiko Urabe (Department of Urology, The Jikei University School of Medicine). In this joint study, Craif provided measurement and analysis support to The Jikei University.
Interstitial cystitis (IC) is a disease characterized by symptoms such as pelvic pain, pressure, discomfort, and urinary urgency, but it is difficult to distinguish from other diseases and is diagnosed only by an experienced urologist. In this study, we found biomarkers related to IC through comprehensive analysis of urinary microRNAs, and demonstrated that liquid biopsy using urine may be useful in the diagnosis of IC.
Craif will continue to strengthen its partnerships with medical institutions nationwide, and will widely deliver new approaches for early detection and optimization of treatment of various diseases to people, thereby realizing our mission “To Ensure Lifelong Health for Everyone.”
